Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who do you coach?
I coach everyone who has the ambition to take the lead in shaping their career or life beyond outside expectations. I work a lot with people from the tech industry or other high paced environments, because of my background at Google. I also work with founders and management teams from scale-ups and mid size companies who want to work on bringing their teams and companies to the next level.
  • I am not sure if it is a good fit?
The easiest way to find out is to book a free 30 minute discovery session, where we get to know each other and briefly discuss your topic and your desired outcomes. That being said, I will coach you as a person and not the “problem” that you bring, so I am very open regarding the topic in general - normally that is just the starting point.
  • What languages do you work in?
I mainly coach in German and English. If you feel more comfortable speaking Spanish or Portuguese, you can do that, too, as long as you are comfortable with me switching to German or English in my responses and questions.
  • What is the difference between Coaching and Mentoring?
In mentoring, a senior individual in the work context acts as a mentor to younger professionals. A popular method is to share own past experiences, igniting ideas within the mentee. In coaching, the coach and coachee are on eye level - the coachee brings the content, the coach facilitates the process. The coach uses different techniques, like active listening, asking questions, mirroring back the coachees thoughts or playing back what they see beyond what is said, so the coachee finds their own answers and solutions.
  • What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?
Therapy focuses on past experiences and emotional healing, often addressing mental health conditions, while coaching focuses on the present and future, helping individuals achieve specific goals and personal growth. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health issues, but rather helps clients maximize their potential and improve performance.
  • What is the difference between Life and Business Coaching?
The only difference is if we start the coaching process with a topic or questioning originating from your professional or your private life. Often, what lies beyond a topic, no matter if it is a business or a personal topic, are patterns or belief systems that repeat themselves in several areas of our lives. So we often broaden the topic a bit first, to look at what lies underneath it and then find the solutions and answers to your initial topic that feel right to you.
  • How long does coaching take?
One regular session is 60 minutes. How many sessions you take depends on your needs. For a long lasting effect and deeper insights, I recommend a minimum of eight sessions. You can have a look at the different options I offer in the “For Individuals” section of this website.
  • Where do we meet for the coaching sessions?
As I work internationally, most of the coaching is done via Google Meet. If you live in the Cascais/ Lisbon area we can meet in person, either in my coaching room or another calm surrounding or outdoors.
  • Are coaching sessions confidential?
ICF coaches are bound to strict confidentiality by the ICF Code of Ethics. This concerns the content of our coaching sessions, but also the mere fact that we are in a coaching relationship. Our default rule is confidentiality. If we would like to name you as a reference or a testimonial, we will approach you and ask for your agreement (which is purely voluntary).
  • How does the coaching process look like?
The first step is to have a 30 minute discovery call, free of charge, in which we get to know each other, briefly discuss your topic and goals and decide if we want to work together. The rest depends on the service you book. You can learn more in the "For Individuals" section of this website.
  • How often do we meet?
If you book the 8 session or 6 months package we will meet several times. The cadence depends on your needs, but I suggest at least every 2-3 weeks to start with to gain momentum.
  • What is the cost?
I want to make my coaching as accessible as it can be for people who need it most. Therefore the cost depends on whether you are company funded or not. If you are a student wanting to decide which path to take for the start of your professional career or a NGO, please reach out, as I offer special rates for you.
